Isn't that user name a little... on the nose, mun?

It's almost like you couldn't come up with anything clever.

Zemaljskoj,

The username is inaccurate. I mean, yes, the metal in the arc reactor was leftover from projects I'd done in Latveria, but the armor was constructed in the States. Also, I don't really think your grasp of the Latverian language is solid enough for this project to get off the ground even if Gospodet Doom wasn't here. Since he is and I'm pretty sure the other heroes aren't about to help me out, given where I was raised... this seems more like a trap than an AU. I've had people try to get me killed before, I'm getting a knack for sensing that kind of thing.

But if there's a chance I can get some more people on board with the Latverian Resistance here, well, I'm used to taking attempts on my life and turning them into personal triumphs, so I'm not about to back out on this.

Just... I'm not really going to get into relationships, right? You put those tags on my journal as joke, right?

...right?

Oh, gods.

Sincerely rethinking this already,

Amatljen

Mun,

Wow.

I knew you were excited, but this is reaching an entirely new level of--

No. No, it's probably best if you don't refresh the page again. They'll open when they open. You just need to breathe. Take a moment and relax.

What? I....

No, I don't think refreshing five more times will--

Unbelievable. Call me when you calm down.

Best,

Nope.

No games. You see those DVDs over there? Go watch them. Pick a canonpoint. Look, you might think I'm reckless - and so does Rhodey, sometimes - but I at least go into stuff with some basic knowledge about what's going on first. I'm pretty sure playing it by ear kinda sums up a lot of the earlier fuck ups on my part, too, so can we not do that and say we did? Thanks.

Hey, you interrupted my Battlestar Galactica marathon, I get to be grumpy. [...okay, true that, Tony. I wouldn't be thrilled about that, either.]

Thanks for getting it. But hey, watch some stuff, get Rhodey or Pepper or Gene in here, maybe it'll work out. Just don't try and blend me with the MCU because that makes Dad, like, at least in his 90's and that's not possible. I mean, it is, because science is to my family what magic is to the Harry Potter universe, but it'd be weird. And I get enough weirdness in my life already.

It's looking like your initial concerns were unfounded, with one glaring exception. At least they haven't stated it outright yet, so there's still a chance that they came to their senses.

...Admittedly, I don't understand why anyone would want to change the name "Ant-Man", but that's beside the point. [He thinks it's cool...] I suppose all I can do now is hope for the best for Scott and Hope. [It's strange, referring to a daughter who he might not even wind up having and a successor that he barely knows, but that's one of the many issues that he's discovered with alternate universes.]

Also, I suppose congratulations are in order for Agent Carter, though she'll probably be sick of hearing them by the end of the night.

Mundane,

I'm not sure if this is some compulsion that you have or just a form of torture, but I don't appreciate being thrown at every Ultron that you see. If Loki's any indication, there will be dozens of versions of it crawling around this place by the time that the movie comes out, and one is more than enough.

All I hope is that these Avengers find a way to permanently stop it; I'd like to think that's not too much to ask for.

Teleportation. Well, I like it. With this my dear brother has nothing he could hold against me anymore.

[ Just being a little smug today. ]

But we both know this would not matter should Nautilus call him to waken: He will always be inferior to me by default. Especially if what he lost can not be simply given back to him, but his very own efforts are what his gains are based on.

[ Here goes a grim little chuckle. ]

I find it funny, however, that you keep comparing my situation now with his back then. And yet they remain vastly different.

Allow me to remind you: Thor - stripped of his powers - got banished to Midgard, fell in love with the first female individual he sees, spends... I think it was about two days down there and returns to Asgard as a changed man.

In fact, I do have to wonder here what it is with the heroic type and instantly falling in love with whatever female they set their eyes on when suddenly finding themselves trapped on another planet or dimension. We are even speaking of different species here. It's foolish. There is no future for this. Love in itself is destined to fail.

But let us not dwell and rather look at my case in direct comparison: I admit a similarity to Thor's case in that I, too, lost my powers when Nautilus called me. I also met the very same woman he did. But unlike that oaf of a brother of mine? I earned something much more valuable than something as foolish and fickle as her love: I have her trust. Further I am met with a splendid opportunity to not merely regain my abilities, but to acquire much greater ones if I but chose to do so and put my will behind it. Returning to Asgard is not an option and you know that. Not now, at least. Maybe eventually, but only if I can take these newly gained powers along.

...possibly even the Labyrinth, shall our attempt to contain it be of success. Just imagine, my petty little mortal. This would be better than the Tesseract. More devastating than the Aether. The Labyrinth is not merely power, it is possibilities. I could put it to great use.

This ain' gonna end well. I don' regret doin' it, not really, but how'm I s'posed t' tell anyone?

Startin' t' not want any of the others, y'know. Y' can' expect me t' tell Kurt or Kitty 'bout this if they come. An' if Scott found out? No. Not even thinkin' 'bout that.

An' Jean? Yeah. No. No way. I'd prefer th' other Jean. Even if I didn' get t' meet her. She at least... I dunno. Sounds like she ain' got any room t' judge, y'know?

An' don' think I don' know you're still hopin' for some more of my crew, nevermind what I think, right? Right. Not like you care.

Jus'... Jus' promise me it'll be worth it? When it's all over... All I want, really.

Yeah, yeah, it's up. Great observation skills there.

You've already got a Gambit lookin'. Which, by the way, is exactly what I don' need. So, let's jus' leave well enough alone, 'kay? Wouldn' mind some of the others, but I'd really rather not deal with, y'know, the Brotherhood. For instance.

I don' care if you wanna see me deal with 'em. I don' wanna.

So, let's not.

So. I'm pretty much an Acolyte. Y'know what the others'd say about that. 'Specially since it's gonna get worse before it gets better. There's gonna be killin' soon. No way 'round it.

Worst part? 'M with you. I don' mind much. The cause is good, an' I can' jus' sit an' not help. If people get hurt, they're the people who deserve it.

...Still wish I had the others here. Even if they wouldn' like what's goin' on.

'M with Logan, an' it's a good enough cause for me. Let's go show 'em what an X-Man can do.

Mundane, there comes a point where watching the same material over and over again can only get you so far. Reading the comics doesn't seem to help as far as inspiration goes; even though I'm similar to that version of me in some aspects, we're complete opposites in many others.

Finding some Avengers may help, but it seems like most of the ones that are here wouldn't know me, and the ones that do wouldn't think highly of me, if what I've heard is any indication. The team that I'm used to is hopefully an exception to that, but I don't know how likely it is that you'll find them given how long it's been.

Maybe one of these "games" couldn't hurt, though I'm not sure why they're called that when they don't seem particularly fun. Ideally, a place where my knowledge could be used to help others; at any rate, it should hopefully help you to focus and get you to look at this situation in a different way.

Just take a break from watching the first season of our show and try something different; changing things up might help. [Or I could incorporate season 2 - you aren't in most of that, but it has a few episodes that really --] No.

Yeah, yeah, pirate game. Should be so much fun.

Still not sure if I'm disappointed or relieved none of the others seem t' be around. There's a Logan and a Jean, yeah, but... not like they're the ones I know. Which is gonna be weird, an' I know you're gonna love every minute of it.

Guess it can' be much worse than Apocalypse, though, huh? So. I'll manage okay.

I think.

Seriously? You couldn't have chosen, say, Bucket-head, to torture? But I get it, you love me. Who doesn't love the Ultimate Spider? Just find me some icons, and a couple people or three to bug (Nova is still the perfect example, okay?), and we'll call it a day!

Hope van Dyne, huh? Or is it Hope Pym? Either way, it's good to see something positive coming out of this, even if the idea of Jan and I having kids is still somewhat strange to consider. It will certainly be interesting to see how this movie about Scott turns out - I know you're irritated by my role in this, but I'd prefer being a mentor over getting directly involved anyway. Hopefully, Scott can deal with this Yellowjacket person quickly - putting the Pym Particles in the wrong hands would be dangerous.

I'm concerned about the lack of any news on Jan's role in this, but other than that, it seems to be shaping up fairly well.

As for Ultron? Well, it's clear that Tony's personality slipped in there somewhere; I can't exactly see the Ultron that I built quoting lyrics from Pinocchio. Beyond that, it sounds like it's more or less the sort of carnage that I expected from that machine. I'm looking forward to seeing the new additions to that version of the Avengers, though. [He hasn't met Vision yet at the point that he's from, but it's a relief to know something good comes out of Ultron. As for Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, he wishes that they had joined the Avengers in his universe - in his eyes, it would show that the team valued the idea of rehabilitation.]

Well, it's not your worst idea ever, I'll give you that. And taking me before the season one finale would throw out all the plot holes the writers created past that point. I can also agree with spending some time out of SHIELD territory given they're compromised in too many universes to trust.

But.

What you're essentially suggesting is I armor up and go save people. Which I'm fine with, but the Mandarin armor doesn't exactly scream 'hero'. Fifty bucks says the second I teleport in my 'allies' will take aim at me and fire. This is kind of a terrible idea. Remember the last time I had allies of any kind? The in-fighting, the lack of progress, the multiple near death experiences?

[...Greenland went well, though.]

Greenland went well because Stark had the ability to throw money at the problem until it went away. I don't.

[C'mon, Gene. How many Mongolian superheroes are out there? Represent your people!]

...again, I refer you to the last time I tried that line of thought. You may not count it as canon but it led to being swallowed whole by a crystal dragon and going insane. Besides, when I hear 'city of superheroes', I automatically translate that to 'city of ignorant white people who don't know Mongolia is still a country'. I don't exist to fill the 'token minority' slot in some Saturday morning cartoon shlock. I have a whole life going on outside of that, thanks.

You really need to think this through more before you throw me in. What about actually throwing Stark at the game? He's more into the whole superhero shtick.
